We are a non profit organization so it is important to us that as much funding as possible reaches those most in need. That being the case, part of your program fee is always used to make a lump sum donation to one of our programs. We choose one program each month to donate to. 

The exact amount of the donation will vary depending on the length of your stay, the total number of volunteers that we have, our current funding levels and the other projects that we are supporting at the time. That said, a donation will always be made so rest assured that your volunteer fee is in part helping to fund our programs. 

Importantly, we ask volunteers to assist us by suggesting what form the donation should take - for example, you might suggest that we donate funds for a specific project or that we purchase shoes for children in an orphanage - so your feedback about the program that you work on is important to us.
