ANGLICAN CHURCH OF KENYA(ACK) - Kibwezi Parish

Rev. Mwangangiis the vicar In charge of the Parish who runs a day to day activities of the church assisted by Rev. Abednego as the assistant vicar. It’s an Anglican church within Makueni County with a population of 600 members. It runs 4 Sunday services to accommodate the Christians/ Members.

It is a community-based church located 200km from Nairobi and 200km from Mombasa. The church has a capacity to host 10 volunteers at a time.

Activities of the church: 

The church has the following programmes

  • Leading primary & Secondary in prayers & bible studies
  • A door to door evangelism
  • Child Evangelism 

Role of volunteers in the church

  • Cleaning the church
  • Setting chairs
  • Organizing bible studies
  • Teaching Sunday school
  • They ensure the service is well organized

Pentecostal Church Evangelism -HEAVENS GATES ASSEMBLY)

Heaven’s Gate Assembly Centre is a Pentecostal church located in Thika town landless Estate headed by pastor James Maingi. The environment is very conducive for prayers and meditation which attracts pastors from various denominations for interdenominational prayers and bible study. This has helped in enhancing vibrant evangelistic activities in the town and community.

Volunteer roles and activities:

 

  • Bible study
  • Evangelism and outreach which involves door to door, street preaching, bible distributions and Christian magazines
  • Devotional programme
  • Discipleship classes
  • Hospital prayer Mission
  • Schools evangelism 

The church has a Van mounted with loudspeakers to facilitate roadside preaching in the community and far distances. 

The church programmes 

Weekdays -  morning devotion (daily) between 6.00 am – 7.45 am 

  • lunch hour meetings between00 Pm – 2.00 Pm (daily) Sunday Services
  • Bible study 30 am – 9.30 am 
  • Sunday school class30 am – 12 noon
  • Main services 00 am – 12.30 Pm

 The church provides snacks to Sunday school class children between 12 noon to 1.00pm
